RULE #1
10 Rules To Making It In Life
Master them, you’ll have control over your life, finances and prosperity.
I
have not yet achieved a lot or have not yet reached the level of success I
desire. But in such a short period of time and at such a young age, you can
tell I’m on the right track. In my 4 years of applying these rules, I’ve
managed to achieve what most man in their 40s only dream of achieving. But at
such a young age, not having yet to graduate or having any form or college
degree but only having one thing that kept me going. The Desire and the Will to
WIN.
In
the process of sharing the 10 Rules To Making It In Life, I will be giving an overview of what these rules have done for
me, just to overtake arguments which may rise in your mind, as some might think
this is to hard or too good to be true some might even deem it to be impossible.
But I aim to share this 10 Rules with you, hoping that you may also make it in
life, these rules came as a lesson in every aspect of my life. They came as
remedial to correct or rebuke me and point me down to the right path, and as
I’ve always listened to the inner me, I’ve followed these rules for the past 4
years (from 2014) having this year 2018 to be fifth as I still plan on making
it in life following these 10 RULES TO SUCCESS.
I
had a strong desire for inventing, but little did I know this was going to be
the key to unlocking most of my abilities or God given talents. It all seemed
as a dream, but I never gave up, always dreamt of inventing the next
Microsoft/Apple, I have to admit, I haven’t created anything of that kind thus
far but I have grew in me a leader that will continue to believe and hold on to
my vision, to be regarded as one of the greats one day. I know it will take
years of hard work and determination but that’s the time I’m willing to invest
in order for me to reach my dream.
Rule
#1
BE INFORMED
What
serves a group of pirates to go hunting for a treasure if they don’t have a map?
What serves you into making it in life without a vision?
The
first rule to making it, is by being informed, if you want something, you have
to be willing to learn more about it, do research, interview those with
experience, always keep informed of your surroundings, who made it and how did
they make it, who failed or failed trying, and what was the cause of their
failure. Without information you like a blind man going to war, you can’t even
see your enemies, what weapons they have, how many they are and let alone, you
know less of what you are up against.
As
my passion for invention was growing, I always bought data bundles instead of
snacks, I lost weight, not eating at school, saving my lunch money so that I
can be able to buy a Night surfer bundle since we didn’t have access to Wi-Fi
or any internet cafes around. I spent most of my time on the internet, than I
did playing outside, I had less friends, the only thing I searched for was ways
to change the world, ways to make money and ways to be a true leader. At this
time I was doing grade 9, when most people were transitioning to the puberty or
adolescence stage, I was being transformed to being an upcoming leader,
teaching myself all the principles of leadership and how to be a great one.
Every
night, I would do all my homework, study, make notes go to sleep and always set
an alarm for midnight. When everyone is asleep, I start enjoying the abundance
of a 1GB of surfing the internet, getting all the information I need. The next
day, I would save money to build my projects, getting all the material, most of
which I made from recycled material.
When
you put your time, effort and energy on something, you become passionate about
it until it becomes a habit. You keep at it, it will work to your advantage.
Now here’s how being informed exposed me to my entrepreneurship path. I always
read what I saw fit to be called a book, and this one afternoon, my mom was
cleaning the house, she was throwing away old books, however before a book
could be thrown away it had to go through me first, so I came across a booklet,
titled Step Up To A Start Up For young Entrepreneurs, most of which I was
triggered by the caption which made me more interested which I’ve made one of
my survival captions whenever things don’t seem to be going my way, the caption
read, THINK BIG – START SMALL – ACT NOW.
I
knew at that instance that It was time for me to act, that I don’t have to
start big or have plenty of money, at that time, things weren’t very smooth at
home, financially, having to be raised by a single parent, but little did I
know that this booklet that was about to be thrown away was my ticket to an eye
opening experience. At that time, I took
the booklet, sat down and read it, it had a task which was to come up with a
business idea of which can solve a certain problem. Instantly I went to the
research I’ve been doing, the projects I’ve been making and came up with the
perfect idea, A Solar Umbrella. This was an umbrella to solve electrical
problems as load shedding was a problem. This umbrella was to have solar cells,
as you walking it charges the battery and you can use the umbrella to charge
your phone, or light a lamp. As much as this was the winning idea, as years
went by, it failed to manifest due to lack of support and finance not to
mention an adequate or committed team of individuals. Although it didn’t
succeed, but the same idea/project managed to get me to the United States where
I learned a lot about entrepreneurship and managed to channel my focus on
things that I value most or are good at as some might say, but still not
swaying eyes of the bigger picture, to be one of the greats.
When
I came back from The United States I manage to start different projects, most of
which failed but I never lost hope, I’ve been to different major radio stations,
such as Jozi FM, Kaya FM, Kasie FM, CliffCentralFM, Soshanguve Community Radio
and even got an interview to morning live on SABC 2, but failed to attend due
to financial problems. Imagine missing such an opportunity just because you
don’t have transport money to get there. But either way, I never gave up on my
dreams and goal, I still kept on keeping on. Always staying informed. By far to
this day, I’ve started different business projects of which many have failed
but have taught me a vital lesson, to never give up and be patient, I’ll
highlight more on the projects on the next rule.
One
might ask, how do I stay informed? How do I set myself aside from the crowed so
that I can be able to get where I want. The answer is pretty simple, you must
know what you want and have a strong desire to achieve it no matter what. You
must be willing to lose everything, whether it be your friends, family or
collogues, when you want something you make no exceptions, because if you don’t
wake up to build your dream, someone else will hire you to build theirs, if
they haven’t already. It’s not just about being informed, but about utilizing
the information.
I’ve
learned to discover that majority of the youth, don’t make it as far as they
want not because they are not properly informed but because they don’t act on
that information. I can make an example of a friend of mine, who I won’t
mention by name, but this friend of mine, liked to attend seminars, he would go
to all informative workshops he could find, have plenty of pamphlets, brochures
information packs, but they are just decorating his room, he has no use or
doesn’t know how to use them.
The
key to mastering Rule #1 is acting upon what you’ve been exposed to. When you
read the news, they say there’s a water crisis, what you going to do about it?
There are forest fires etc., what you going to do about it? Reading is one
thing, applying what you read is another thing.
So
you should commit yourself to studying, whether you feel like it or not, read
something before you sleep, whether it be your bible, or a book, just make it a
point to read something when you wake up and when you go to bed. Always search
on the net, the problems people are facing or pay attention to the problems
your community is facing, gather information on how other people or regions
have dealt with that issue, if there’s no solution, come up with one.
Always
read motivation books, quotes or listen to clips, make sure that you don’t lose
the fire, always keep it burning. Be informed also in what you want, don’t just
say you want to do something because it pays really good or to those who are
already doing something, sit down and ask yourself, IS THIS REALLY ME? DO I
ENJOY WHAT I’M DOING? The answer you get will lead you to where you should be.
I
believe you can see how being informed as some might despise it, is really
important and can help you achieve quite a lot.
I’ll
be posting the 10 Rules to making it in life, as a different post each day. So
